Marriage Licenses We are licensed to issue Marriage Licenses in British Columbia. Only one of the couple being married needs to apply in person to one of our offices. A fee must be paid at the time of application and you will be asked to provide identification for both parties. Birth Certificate, Passport or Driver License is accepted. You do not have to take a blood test or be a B.C. resident in order to be married. The license, once issued, is only valid in B.C. for a period of three months. A booklet entitled "Getting Married in British Columbia" can be obtained at any of our offices.
